Post Associates

The renovation of the Enterprise building included complete modernization of all building systems and rehabilitation of the building into modern offices, and houses the 4th Street Deli on the first floor.  The newly revitalized Enterprise consists of 13,000 square foot of retail and office space with related parking. The Enterprise Building revitalization is part of the larger urban revitalization of the Seward Street Corridor (Widdicomb North, Widdicomb South, Aslan, and the Drueke Building).

Georgetown Christian Fellowship Church (formerly Grandville Christian Fellowship Church) outgrew its rental space and came to Post Associates in 2006 to design a new sanctuary and educational space.  This 8,100 square foot facility points gives the congregation great expansion possibilities under a very tight budget.  Post Associates worked closely with The Bomhof Group (General Contractor), the Church’s Building Committee and several other volunteers to produce a place that the membership can truly call their own.

This new 20,000 square foot facility created a new worship center for the community.  The project includes educational spaces, fellowship hall, offices and a dynamic sanctuary.

Israels Designs for Living needed more square footage to provide space for several new furniture lines.  The 17,000 square feet addition occupies two levels and mimics the signature two story arched windows.  The addition utilizes heavy timber structural members salvaged from a turn of the century furniture factory and features brick interior walls to continue the warehouse feel.

After a fire destroyed the offices and truck service facility, the county commissioned Post Associates to design a new administrative building, truck storage building, salt storage and renovation of the truck maintenance building.  In addition to the new construction projects, Post Associates worked closely with the county to develop a Master Plan that is currently being implemented.

This project includes the renovation of the parking garage and offices.  The new construction adds a truck maintenance building, new offices and a new truck wash bay.  The new and renovated facility provides a new boardroom and facilities for the future.  Post Associates prides itself in retaining many clients, and this is no exception.  Shortly after this project, Montcalm County hired Post Associates to design two remote truck storage facilities.

Located within Olive Township, the Fillmore Complex houses the new Ottawa County Administration Building.  The partnership between the Post Associates, Ottawa County and Clark Construction presented the $7 million project under budget.  The new facility includes a Police Department (range, offices, simulator emergency operations center, classrooms / training rooms and support spaces), new offices for accounting, building and grounds, attorneys, finance, purchasing, M.I.S., mapping, parks and recreation, human resources, treasurer and support spaces.

Post Associates involvement with NBD and Bank One spans several decades, producing branch and corporate offices throughout Michigan.  The diversity in experience with bank and credit union design is unmatched in West Michigan.

The Maple Creek campus (formerly Luther Village) by Lutheran Social Services of Michigan has been serving West Michigan since the mid 1970’s.  The Terraces (Independent Living), The Lodge (Nursing and new Rehabilitation center) and The Woods (Assisted Living) are each receiving additions and extensive renovations.  The new offering of the campus will be The Cottages—33 units of town home style Independent Living. In addition to the individual building projects, the entire campus will now be interconnected through new roads and walkways.  The street facade will also be redeveloped to present the campus as a whole, emphasizing the organization’s Continuing Care Community approach.

The most recent addition to Holland Home’s Raybrook Campus, the Cook Wing houses a state of the art Skilled Nursing facility.  These new 51units increase the campus total to 690 units of Independent Living, Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care.  This addition matches the original building character and use of materials and provides large common areas and beautiful vistas of the campus.

Breton Ridge, In the Woods is an Independent Living center set in a heavily wooded area in Kentwood, Michigan.  The facility is the latest development from Holland Home, an organization Post Associates has worked with since 1983.  Breton Ridge, In the Woods will contain 215 units in a variety of sizes and layouts.  The complex also includes underground parking and all of the amenities a resident could ask for.

Construction of Covenant Village of the Great Lakes took place over seven years, spanning three major projects.  Phase One created 34 Nursing beds and 63 Assisted Living/Home for the Aged units.  Phase Two construction built 105 Independent Living units spread across 215,000 square feet.  When additional units were needed, Phase Three began, and 84 additional Independent Living units were built over 150,000 square feet.

Covenant Village projects have set the standard in West Michigan for warmth, comfort and care. Post Associates is very proud of our role in the creation of this campus.

Built in three phases, the Breton Terrace campus covers several acres and provides hundreds of units.  The almost 400,000 square foot campus contains a fitness center, pool, recreation area and many other amenities. Post Associates’ work with Holland Home spans over 25 years and numerous projects on many campuses.

This addition to the Millennium Park campus involved a new 4,000 square foot maintenance facility.  This beautifully skinned pole barn blends very well with the balance of the park while providing workspace, maintenance storage, a break room, an office, and a boat storage area for the Sheriff.  The facility also houses areas for refuse, bulk material storage, an access ramp to the pond and equipment parking.

Post Associates’ involvement with Northpointe Christian Schools (formerly Grand Rapids Baptist Schools) spans two projects over several years.  The first phase involved the classroom addition, Media Center addition and several areas of renovation.  The second project includes a new Gymnasium, Administrative Offices, Cafetorium, and numerous renovated spaces.

This addition and renovation includes a dramatic reworking of the sanctuary, new windows, entry and new classrooms. The project transformed a dark banal space into a lively space to worship and celebrate.

The John Widdicomb Furniture Company is synonymous with West Michigan and the furniture industry.  The Widdicomb building began in the 1860’s in the Post-Civil War boom.  The furniture industry sustained the two structures until Israels Designs for Living remodeled the building in 2008.  The facility houses numerous retail, service and office lease space.

This addition and renovation includes renovation of the corridor sentry, creation of a library, and the new educational wing.  A great deal of effort was taken to blend the existing and new into one cohesive facility.  The 6,400 square foot addition houses three Children’s Worship Rooms, a dividable Youth Room, an Art Room, a dividable Drama Area, and restrooms.  With Wolverine Building Group, the Church’s Building Committee and numerous volunteers, Post Associates helped to create a very flexible, dynamic space for the entire congregation to enjoy.

This addition to the 1908 church includes the use of a salvaged stone base and stained glass windows as well as the original design concepts to create a beautifully compatible and complementary connection between two existing structures. The addition connects the four levels of the existing activities building and church, as well as providing barrier-free access to all levels.

Pliant Plastics outgrew their existing facility and contacted Post Associates to design their new 67,000+ square foot facility.  The facility includes offices, a clean room, testing laboratory, a storage mezzanine, an overhead crane system, a storage area and truck docks.  The facility boasts vast amounts of natural light through skylights and numerous large windows.  The complex has been very well received by staff, visitors and community members.

Post Associates’ relationship with Cornerstone University spans over 5 years and 14 projects. Campus work includes a new Student Union, new Media Center / Family Bookstore, Classroom addition and renovation, Student housing projects, Practice Facility and numerous other projects.

Post Associates has been working with Fuddruckers for the last twenty years, producing ten new corporate stores. Post Associates has recently developed the corporate prototype store and presented it at the 2009 Franchise Owners Convention in Chicago.  In addition to the new facilities, we have also renovated over ten corporate locations.

In 2009, the former Roger’s Department Store was converted to the new location of Klingman’s Furniture.  The large three-story building’s interior and exterior were heavily renovated to create the upscale furniture showroom.  The fast-paced renovation greatly improved Wyoming’s 28th Street façade.

The City of Grand Rapids’ Water / Environmental Services Facility is the first municipally owned facility in the State of Michigan to reach LEED certification.  This facility harnesses nature and technology to provide a daylit, energy-efficient working environment.  Employee acclaim has pushed the City to incorporate many of this facility’s ideas into future projects.

Post Associates’ relationship with Jackson Entertainment, LLC and Jack Loeks Theaters began in 1995 and has produced six new theaters and numerous additions and renovations.

The Kentwood Justice Center serves the Kentwood Police Department and the 62-B District Court and the City of Kentwood.  The Justice Center contains an intricate program of security, circulation and public embrace.  Post Associates, in conjunction with Redstone Architects, created a warm environment while fulfilling the intense requirements of public service.

Project requires description!

This new facility for the Berends Hendricks Stuit Insurance Agency provides approximately 20,000 square feet of office space (the lower level of the building is designed as a lease space).  The success of this project led to the design of a Holland branch office.  The addition to and complete remodel of an existing bank facility created 5,600 square feet of office space.

Garrison Dental Solutions is a group located in Spring Lake,Michigan, that designs and manufactures specialty dental equipment.  The group worked within a dentist’s office building until the company outgrew its surroundings.  Garrison Dental Solutions approached Post Associates with a desire to create a new facility housing the design, the manufacture and the warehousing of their equipment.  Post Associates was happy to make their dream a reality.  Squeezed onto a very tight site, the building captures great views of the Spring Lake area and provides an ample amount of comfortable space for each of the groups processes.
